Homelessness in Phoenix is not evenly distributed.
Compared to Maricopa County’s overall population, Black and Indigenous neighbors are dramatically overrepresented among people experiencing homelessness. Food insecurity tracks the same lines — driven by evictions, fixed incomes, and the shortage of truly affordable housing.
